  PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pennsylvania man pleaded
  guilty Thursday to selling powder that dilutes heroin and tiny "stamp" bags used to package it and has agreed to be deported to his native India.
  
  
  Akhil Mishra, 72, of Indiana Township, returns for sentencing
  Aug.

  Mishra will likely receive a prison sentence of time served, which will
  work out to roughly 18 months, his defense attorney George Bills said.
  He's been jailed since Bissoon agreed with prosecutors in March 2015 that Mishra
  would likely just keep selling the drug-related supplies if he remained free on bond.
  
  
  The attorney said the deportation arrangements will take time
  because Indian birth records can be unreliable.
  
  
  "You can't just walk into an embassy and say, 'I need to be deported,'" Bills said.
  
  
  "I can't drive him there and Donald Trump can't put him on a bus and send him. But everybody agrees he's leaving, he's out."
  
  The guilty plea ends a more than 20-year battle between Mishra and
  Pittsburgh-area authorities.
  
  He previously was convicted in 1992 and 2000 of selling marijuana bongs and drug paraphernalia at "head shops" his family owned in Pittsburgh and its suburbs.
  
  
  Federal agents cracked down on Mishra's family again in 2013 at the beginning of
  a western Pennsylvania heroin overdose epidemic that's yet to ebb.
  
  
  The 2000 investigation grew into a prosecution of drug-themed comedian Tommy Chong, who was convicted of selling bongs from his California-based Nice Dreams Enterprises to
  stores like Mishra's.
  
  Chong pleaded guilty and received nine months in prison from a federal judge in Pittsburgh in September 2003.
  
  
  U.S. Attorney David Hickton has said that Mishra's more recent offenses are more serious
  because they deal with heroin.
  
  According to a 2013 indictment, Akhil Mishra's son, Mayank, of Glenshaw, conspired
  with two street gang members to distribute heroin by selling them "cutting" powders and
  stamp bags.
  
  Mayank Mishra is awaiting sentencing in that case,
  but it still awaiting trial on charges of selling the heroin supplies through Giggles,
  a downtown Pittsburgh novelty shop, and Rock America, in the city's North Hills suburbs.
  
  
  Akhil Mishra was eventually charged with conspiring to help his son sell the same items
  at Giggles.
  
  Mishra was free on bond in that case when he was arrested in February
  2015 for selling counterfeit Pittsburgh Pirates caps.
  
  
  But authorities also found stamp bags and heroin-cutting powders that Mishra couldn't sell as a condition of remaining
  free.
  
  Bissoon agreed that closing the stores wouldn't necessarily prevent Mishra from selling the
  items from home, noting that he had a box of the stamp bags shipped there weeks before the March 2015
  hearing when she ordered him to remain jailed until he stood trial or pleaded guilty.
  
  
  
  Previous raids of Mishra homes and businesses also yielded $907,000 in cash.
  
  
  
  Mishra is eager to be deported so he can join his wife, Rajeshwari, Bills said.
